Liberal Democrats work for you all year round!

What you get when you vote Liberal Democrat:

Fighting for the Kent & Canterbury Hospital - We will never give up the fight to save our hospital. The Labour Minister for Health, Alan Milburn, has got it wrong! We will continue to work with CHEK and other local campaigners for full A&E at K&C.

A Safer Community - The Liberal Democrats have attracted over £10 million from outside agencies to provide new opportunities for local people and to improve quality of life.

Exciting new opportunities for Children and Young People like the 511 Teams, The Street Runner Youth Bus and the SK8A mobile skateboard team.

Working closely with the Police to tackle anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime. Under the Liberal Democrats the City Council is the first anywhere in the country to have a police inspector working with them full-time to tackle crime.

We spend your money wisely - The independent District Auditor has called our council budget "Prudent". The City Council has increased Council tax by just £9 a year. Tory-run County Council’s increase is a huge £100 a year.

Fighting for the Environment - Liberal Democrats are fighting to protect our environment. Environmental issues are at the heart of our policies. That is why the LibDems have fought against the SWERF incinerator and for better recycling.

Tackling the Traffic - Your local Liberal Democrats have a proven record when it comes to fighting for traffic-calming and reducing traffic. We will continue our fight with Kent County Council for better pavements & roads and to tackle the traffic jams.

Local Accountability - The Liberal Democrats will introduce Area Committees for Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay and the local villages so that local people have more say in decisions which affect their lives. This means that local communities will have more say over where their money is spent!

A Council that cares - Campaigning for an increase in the state pension & better care for the elderly.
