Amin Buratee free to continue his education

Amin BurateeLocal school boy Amin Buratee aged 18 has been given leave to finish his education locally following your successful campaign. Amin, who escaped torure at the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan and settled in Whitstable had been snatched by immigration officers and held in custody ahead of deportation.

Council Leader Alex Perkins (Lib Dem) said "this is a fantastic victory for our local community. We stood up to the government and helped this innocent young man fight for his freedom. I am so happy that local people were for once listened to by this arrogant government."
