Council’s
Casino Plans Meet Government Approval
By

Canterbury Liberal Democrat Leader
The Tory-run City Council’s
plans to build a large casino locally have been short-listed
for approval by the government.
The casino plans, which were put forward by Conservative
Councillor John Gilbey, list four sites in the district,
three in Canterbury and one in Herne Bay.
Local church leaders are up in arms that three
of the four sites put forward by the Conservatives
are so close to the cathedral.
