Chris TookExpand the Neighbourhood Act
Help us to help ourselves

By Chris Took, Canterbury Liberal Democrat City Councillor

During the Canterbury City Council’s budget discussion on February 16th, local councillor Chris Took asked the City Council to provide funds for the removal of offensive and racist graffiti from private buildings where that building fronts onto a public highway or footpath. Whilst money for a ‘Graffiti Hit Squad’ was approved, it transpired that the Neighbourhood Act would not allow removal from private dwellings. We think this is wrong and are campaigning that ‘private buildings’ should be included in the Neighbourhood Act 2003. Please click here to sign our petition via email.
